Michael Curran

Professor Mike Curran has been involved in many disciplines of Martial Arts, including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, ‘Bang’ Muay Thai Kickboxing, Tang So Do, Wrestling, Small Circle Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga and Boxing for over 30
years.

He received his Black Belt in BJJ on May 12, 2012 from Roberto Marquez DaSilva, “Maguilla”, who was a 5th degree BJJ Black Belt from Carlson Gracie. Professor Mike is currently a 3rd degree Black Belt under Carlos ‘David’ Oliveira, 5th Degree Black Belt under Roberto Traven. He also trains the ‘Bang’ Muay Thai System under Sensei Duane Ludwig and is currently a Brown Belt in that system..

Professor Mike has a passion for Martial Arts and knowledge of good training. He also instills discipline, self-control, and confidence in his students. In his classes, students learn a combination of disciplines and
techniques that can be used for fitness and self-defense, for tournament training or for amateur and professional bouts.

Professor Mike has trained students that have competed in and medaled in Grappling as well as Amateur and Professional MMA Fights. Hagerstown BJJ Academy, LLC is an official Team Evolution Affiliate and
an official ‘Bang’ Muay Thai Affiliate in the Hagerstown area. Our classes include BJJ, Bang Muay Thai, MMA, Kids BJJ, Kids Bang Muay
Thai.

Professor Curran has made it his life’s mission to teach the highest values of Martial Arts instruction and share the knowledge he has acquired over the years to give his students the champions mindset
inside and outside of the academy.
